This event will include BOTH our traditional Fun Ride on Saturday AND our fall Poker Ride on Sunday, plus MORE!!! Please note, this fundraiser is not an individual day event – it is being offered as a weekend extravaganza Saturday AND Sunday.

SATURDAY FUN RIDE
Ride the 5-mile Enchanted Forest, the 12-mile loop, or challenge yourself and your horse on a 20-mile loop on the well-marked Rock Creek Trails. Please plan accordingly to give yourself enough time to check-in, saddle-up, and hit the trail by the appropriate time, especially if you are arriving Saturday morning. If you are late, you might be redirected to a shorter trail so you are not in front of the sweep/drag riders 🙂
- The 20-milers need to be on the trail between 8 and 9 a.m.
- 12-milers need to be on the trail between 8 and 10 a.m.
- 5-milers may ride the trail at their convenience any time after 8 a.m. as long as you are back by 4:00 for the BBQ.
ALL riders need to be back in camp by 4:00 p.m. for the BBQ (meal ticket #1). We’ll enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner, salads, and dessert while we announce our lucky raffle and silent auction winners. Then, grab your chair, your favorite cocktail, and meet back at the picnic area for a group campfire and an evening of friendship, DJ music, dancing, singing, and of course s’mores.
SUNDAY POKER RIDE
Join us between 7 and 9 a.m. for coffee, tea, and an eggs, pancakes, and sausage breakfast (meal ticket #2). Then, saddle up your horses, grab your Poker Ride card(s) from your ride packet, and head out on the 5-mile Enchanted Forest trail to collect your winning poker hand. Everyone meanders out anytime between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., making several stops along the way to collect your poker hand. Our team will determine the winning hands while we enjoy a yummy catered Mexican lunch (meal ticket #3) between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. We will announce the winning hands and prize winners during lunch. You must be present to take home your prize.
The cost is $80 for GDETF members and $90 for non-members for the whole weekend. Your entry fee includes:
- Saturday Fun Ride, delicious BBQ dinner (meal ticket #1), and evening entertainment
- Sunday morning breakfast (meal ticket #2)
- Sunday Poker Ride with 1 poker hand (additional hands may be purchased) and a catered Mexican lunch (meal ticket #3)

We need to receive your entry form and payment by September 25 so food preparations can begin! Your entry is not secure until payment has been received. For your convenience, we have an online entry and payment form available here. There is also a link to print the entry form for sending snail mail. There is limited camping/trailer parking, so get your entry form in early before we reach capacity.
Campsites are first-come, first-serve, as are any of the permanent horse corrals. There is no reservation service for Dru Barner. Campsite fees are $3.00/day use and $8.00/night and are paid separately to the Forest Service on arrival. If you have concerns regarding fitting your large LQ rig in a campsite, or if you have a friend or two and want to share a campsite, send us an e-mail and we’ll try to accommodate you with one of the larger sites. Most campsites have a picnic table and fire ring. There are many smaller sites and overflow parking that can be used for day-use.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

If you do not plan on riding this event, please consider volunteering. It takes many hands to put on these events. Volunteers receive one free meal ticket for every job they help out with! Send us an email if you’d like to help.
This is GDETF’s major fundraiser and we welcome your support! All the profits of this fun(d) ride go back into improving and maintaining the campgrounds and other local trails.
