2025 Fun Ride Weekend
Memorial Weekend, May 24-25, 2025
Come join us at the beautiful Dru Barner Equestrian campground just east of Georgetown for an equestrian WEEKEND filled with riding, great food, entertainment, more riding, more food, prizes and fun!!! This event will include our traditional trail rides and BBQ on Saturday. On Sunday, start the day with a scrumptious breakfast, then enjoy a marked trail through the Enchanted Forest and/or, the optional trail obstacle course with a chance to win prizes, followed by an evening Potluck where we supply the main course and entertainment. Sign up for the entire weekend or just one day. Campsites are available for weekend registrations only. Room is limited, so please don’t wait.
Arrive Friday and camp overnight so you’re bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for Saturday morning’s 5, 12, or 20 mile trail rides. Check-in begins 3 p.m. until dark on Friday, Saturday morning 7-9 a.m. and Sunday morning 7-9 a.m.
Weekend Activities
SATURDAY: TRAIL RIDES – Ride the 5-mile Enchanted Forest, the 12-mile loop, or challenge yourself and your horse on a 20-mile loop on the well-marked Rock Creek Trails. Please plan accordingly to give yourself enough time to check-in, saddle-up, and hit the trail by the appropriate time, especially if you are arriving Saturday morning. If you are late, you might be redirected to a shorter trail so you are not behind the sweep/drag riders 🙂
- The 20-milers need to be on the trail between 8 and 9 a.m.
- 12-milers need to be on the trail between 8 and 10 a.m.
- 5-milers may ride the trail at their convenience any time after 8 a.m. as long as you are back by 4:00 p.m. for the BBQ.
ALL riders need to be back in camp by 4:00 p.m. for the BBQ (meal ticket #1). We’ll enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner, salads and dessert followed by a rockin’ DJ around the campfire!
SUNDAY: ENCHANTED FOREST RIDE and OPTIONAL TRAIL OBSTACLE COURSE – Join us between 8-9 a.m. for coffee, tea, eggs, potatoes, pancakes and sausage breakfast (meal ticket #2). Then, saddle up your horses and head out on the marked, 5-mile Enchanted Forest trail with an option to complete a fun trail obstacle course with prizes! Please plan on packing your own lunch. Join us at 4PM for a GDETF Potluck and we’ll draw winners for the obstacle course while we eat. (GDETF will provide the main course. Meal ticket #3) If your last name begins in A – D, please bring an appetizer, E – J, please bring a salad, K – P, please bring a side dish and Q – Z, please bring a dessert.
