Dru Barner Weekend Extravaganza 2020

Regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, we are following all state guidelines as they develop and will plan things accordingly. For now, we are moving forward but, of course, everyone’s money will be refunded if we have to cancel the ride at the last minute.
Come join us at the beautiful DRU BARNER CAMPGROUND just east of Georgetown for an equestrian weekend extravaganza filled with camping, riding, great food, evening entertainment, more riding, more food, raffle prizes and fun!!!
This event will include our traditional trail rides on Saturday and a morning of equestrian games on Sunday.
SATURDAY: TRAIL RIDES – Ride the 5-mile Enchanted Forest, the 12-mile loop, or challenge yourself and your horse and head out on a 20-mile loop on the well-marked Rock Creek Trails (See Event Logistics). Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner together and announce the raffle and silent auction winners. Then, grab your chair and favorite cocktail and meet back at the picnic area for a group campfire and an evening of DJ music, dancing, singing, and of course bring the fixings for s’mores.
SUNDAY: GDETF EQUESTRIAN GAMES – Start the morning out with us for tea, coffee, and a hearty breakfast. Then, saddle up your horses and meander out on the 5-mile Enchanted Forest trail to play games with your horse and collect winning points. Return back to camp for a yummy Mexican lunch at which time the winning prizes will be announced. You must be present to take home your prizes.
You can sign up for the entire weekend or just one day. The cost is:
- WEEKEND – $90 for GDETF members and $110 for non-members for the whole weekend.
- ONE-DAY – $45 for GDETF members and $55 for non-members.
Your weekend entry fee includes Saturday trail rides, BBQ dinner and evening entertainment; Sunday morning breakfast, one game card (additional cards may be purchased) and a Mexican lunch.
If you are staying the night, you must reserve a camp site when you register. There are free sites, paid sites, sites with pens and sites without pens (day-only riders will be parked in overflow and do not need a camp site reservation). Your ride entry must be paid before reserving a camp site. This is going to be first-come, first-serve, so don’t wait.
As everything is on a first-come, first-serve basis, we strongly encourage using our website online registration and pay through PayPal, so you don’t have to wait on snail-mail. All forms and links are listed below.

If you do not plan on riding this event, please consider volunteering. It takes many hands to put on these events. Volunteers receive one free meal ticket for every job they help out with! Send us an email if you’d like to help.
This is GDETF’s major fundraiser and we welcome your support! All the profits of this ride go back into improving and maintaining the campgrounds and other local trails.
